Sorry again to sound like too much of a moron here, but I want to make sure
that I understand some of the things that I've seen talked about here at
SIMS discussions.

First of all, here's our scenario.

We have a 10-client peer-to-peer Mac-PC network being served mail and web
from a Bondi machine running 8.6.

I have SIMS setup with about 20 mailboxes so far and am using Macjordomo for
a list-server.

My questions are as follows:

1. What exactly is an open relay and how can I make sure that I am avoiding
being used as one?

2. I've only setup SIMS to be functional thus far, but have not delved into
more serious systems administration like routing. Any good suggestions on
learning about routing or any posts here about it that I can look up and
teach myself?

3. We are an extremely small organization, but SIMS serves us very well. I
love the admin utility. I only have to restart the box every couple of weeks
or so and I am gathering that this may be due to a few connectivity problems
on our network. Is it normal to have to restart your machine every so often
when running so many apps (I currently have about 5-6 loading on that box at
startup - it's got 192MB).

4. I'm really new to mail servers and don't have a lot of expertise there,
but have been into small-scale networking for about 2-3 years now, so, can
you guys take it easy on me? I mean, I know that you are all EXTREMELY
knowledgable. But I'm really not when it comes to this.

Thanks, everyone.
