The problem I've seen is that you get Kernel Panics if an OS X app tries to talk to a Classic App using TCP/IP.
I will try this when I get home and see if it works. If it doesn't work in OSX, will it work in OS 9.2.2? Rebooting into 9 to send mail wouldn't be optimal; however, if it worked, it would be a reasonable work-around?
