We have a customer who for the past couple of days has not been able to receive any emails from our company. The error messages showing in our server logs are as follows(domain names and IP addresses have been altered to protect our client. I hope this does not hinder discovering the problem):
16:42:27 3 SMTP-190(se.domain.com) Failed to connect to [XXX.XX.XXX.XX:25]. reason=60
16:42:28 3 SMTP-190(se.domain.com) Failed to connect to [XXX.XX.XXX.XXX:25]. reason=61
16:42:28 3 SMTP-190(se.domain.com) No relay address is accessable. Error Code=-25010
Would this appear to be an issue on my end or on their end? Right now I am leaning towards a problem on their end due to the fact they are the only email recipients we are having issues with.
Without the specifics, figuring it out in detail is impossible, but it certainly looks like SIMS is finding 2 MX or A records in DNS for the given domain, but is unable to connect to either of them. A little digging in DNS and manual connection testing might reveal the particulars.
