I am afraid that we would have to extend the analogy a bit further in the case of entities such as FutureBen, described in Ben's essay. FutureBen would be to current Ben like your current self is to your former embryo-self. That raises another question. FutureBen may have all memories of CurrentBen stored somewhere in his (its?) system, but once he decides to access that system, will he even comprehend them?
