If you don't retransmit the ACK, the UAS (since it hasn't seen the
ACK) will retransmit the final response, which should stimulate the
UAC to retransmit the ACK.

   I think it is not necessary, but I am not sure.

If you want the request to get to the UAS you will have to retransmit
it, since your first attempt at transmitting it failed!
