Hi Sumin, If you are sure at UAS end that the address is not reachable from any UAS I guess 606 respnose is a good response. Section 21.6.4 of RFC 3261 also describes what response should be like. The reason why the carriers send BYE shortly after session is established, I guess, is that it would try to send RTP packets to the address mentioned in SDP which cannot be reached so after ARP timeout it gives up on the session and clears it.

There is no problem in message syntax. If UAS can't accept the media offer in INVITE from UAC because of private connect address, which sip response should be sent to UAC? Both 488(Not Acceptable Here) and 606(Not Acceptable) work? By the way, during the interop with pstn termination carrier, I found that certain carrier sent BYE shortly after the session had been established(INVITE->200OK->ACK) in case of a private connection address in SDP. What is a RECOMMENDED UAS behavior? sending final response to INVITE or sending BYE? Thanks in advance for any comment.
