i agree with this and long time ago (before presence existed)
proposed a
similar (if not even simpler) solution:
- my phone receives a call from sip:[EMAIL PROTECTED]
- my phone sends a query to sip:[EMAIL PROTECTED] asking if [EMAIL PROTECTED]
is trying to
call me
in order for this to work, the phone from which sip:[EMAIL PROTECTED] is
calling,
needs to be registered.
Not only that, but it needs to deal with forking, or it needs to
require all the calls originating @bar go through the @bar proxy/sbc.
Jonathan may be right -- perhaps we should revisit the core SIP specs
assuming universal deployment of SBCs. It still won't be right, but at
least we'd get some new problems to chew on.
