vanished
from the Internet because it was found to not really add any useful
authentication.
draft-kuthan-sip-derive-00 proposal is 100% SIP based instead of
depending on
other protocols. IMHO it has *nothing* to do with Identd mechanism.
But it is very much LIKE the ident mechanism, in that, in response to
a connection attempt, the connected party does a reverse-to-host
connection to ask "Is this from you, and which user is it from"?
You've just implemented a complicated version of a return-routability
check.
