One question that hasn't been answered by my earlier Emails:

Does the CONTACTS_DIRECTORY attribute govern user preference?

[mkd] No, the CONTACTS_DIRECTORY governs where the user contact
directory will be served and read from.
The OVERRIDES_DIRECTORY governs where the user preferences are saved in
a file with the name of <MAC-ADDRESS>-phone.cfg. Things like ring-tone
selections, background selection and other features that may be
enabled/set from the Settings->Basic menu option.

Regards
Marek

Kevin & Damian: Do you have input on my proposed changes, and questions?
Huijun has been already been investigating, and is ready to start
implementing the "overrides" approach, if we have consensus.

Actually Huijun also found a challenge regarding default values that I
hadn't thought of. He'll post shortly with the details.

To be clear, we could do this, though I don't think we have a reason to
in our environment.

(Note: The "overrides" capability doesn't apply to this file...)

Marek?

Grammar corrected: Does the CONTACTS_DIRECTORY attribute govern user
preference?

I've raised XCF-2736 to cover this enhancement request.

Thanks.
