Subject: [sipx-users] Can't install SIPX 4.0 in VMWare

Hi All.

I?ve downloaded the 32 Bit version of the SIPX 4.0 ISO and before putting it on a productive instance, I?d like to run some tests of all the features on a VM, on the past I?ve successfully tested the SIPX using VMWare, but with SIPX 4.0 I?m unable to install this new version, the problem is that when the CD boots and runs the first scripts of the installation, it sends a pop up window telling that there?s no space to make all the partitions for the installation, I?ve double checked the VM configuration and I?m sure that
there?s sufficient space on the virtual HDD(18GB).

I had the same issue using VMWare. I ended up creating my virtual disk in Parallels and then converting that disk to VMWare. I am uncertain why this issue would persist in one product and not the other. Eventually I had to reinstall again for another issue and found that it appeared to be related to the choice of operating system that was selected when creating virtual drive. I personally found that using the setting Linux kernel 2.6.x worked for 3.10 for VMWare but I had to change the setting to Linux Red Hat Enterprise 5 for 4.0.
