All the CS70n's that I have used have "hangup" problems in that they hang up in the middle of the call. I recently switched our helpdesk over to Jabra and they love them. They can make it through an entire 8 hour day without a recharge whereas the plantronics would die about 6 hours in on a busy day. We use the Jabra GN 9125 ST and so far it has worked flawlessly and has a better range than the CS70n. It looks like the Jabra GN 9125 NC would be good for you as it provides some noise cancellation. You don't need a "lifter" as the EHS module (sold separately) will take care of the headset stuff for you.

Good morning,

Slightly off topic, but I think there are probably a few people in this group that can give me the benefit of their experience.

We are looking for cordless headsets to use with our Polycom IP550 phones and a sipXecs IP PBX.  Does anyone have a headset that they would recommend (or recommend avoiding?)

I’ve been looking at the Plantronics CS70N, and it mentions the need for a handset lifter to allow the user to answer a call from the headset while not at his/her desk.   Would something like this be needed with the IP500?

Some of my requirements/wishlist, more or less in order from most to least important:

-    Clear audio

-    Good range of volume levels

-    Reasonably priced

-    Easy for a “non technical” person to use

-    Can be used with either ear

-    Range at least 15 meters, inside a concrete building with interior walls

-    Noise reduction would be nice, but not a dealbreaker.
