Probably fewer. If you have a single piece of hardware do a backup in sipx (I always grab the dhcpleases file to) and export phones and users. Use a new drive and install 4.1.7 and then:
Install, import phones and users from export files. Restore voicemail. Rebuild all dial plans, hunt groups, acd's and conferences manually. That "should" be a shortcut method. ============================ Tony Graziano, Manager Telephone: 434.984.8430 Fax: 434.984.8431 Email: tgrazi...@myitdepartment.net LAN/Telephony/Security and Control Systems Helpdesk: Telephone: 434.984.8426 Fax: 434.984.8427 Helpdesk Contract Customers: http://www.myitdepartment.net/gethelp/ ----- Original Message ----- From: Ken Fulmer <kenful...@icstechnologysolutions.com> To: 'Tony Graziano' <tgrazi...@myitdepartment.net> Cc: sipx-users@list.sipfoundry.org <sipx-users@list.sipfoundry.org> Sent: Wed Mar 24 17:07:37 2010 Subject: RE: [sipx-users] 4.1.7 Ok, thanks. I shouldn't publicly say so, because there are lots of issues getting there, it's not a clean path, and certain things had to be manually rebuilt. Only been up for a couple of days but definitely quashed my zombie (FS CPU) with it. I just don't know if it is going to be in-place upgradeable at this time, so it is very much use at your own risk. I built a separate 4.0.4 system, restored the production config to it on a duplicate/separate network and worked through multiple upgrade issues to make sure you can get it all working before the "flip". So in that respect, it is really not ready for the faint of heart of skills. The upgrade took me 2 hours to work through. -- ====================== Tony Graziano, Manager Telephone: 434.984.8430 Fax: 434.984.8431 Email: tgrazi...@myitdepartment.net LAN/Telephony/Security and Control Systems Helpdesk: Telephone: 434.984.8426 Fax: 434.984.8427 Helpdesk Contract Customers: http://www.myitdepartment.net/gethelp/ Why do mathematicians always confuse Halloween and Christmas?
