Tony,
Yes, tftp server is fine, we have 6 polycom phones "hanging off" this
test system as well. They work fine...
What we don't see are tftp packets from the M1K to the tftp server...

We have done that, and see the <mac-address>.ini file in /var/....
However, we don't ever see the TFTP request at the packet level
coming out the unit ????
(ie. the M1K is not initiating tftp after boot up...)

You need to ensure you've got the profile in the tftp server
that it is
asking for. Once, a long, long time ago... in a far off distant
version of
sipxpbx... I created phones and never "sent" the profiles
which created the
config files for the phones to pickup. So if you have not sent
the profile
"to" the tftp server by sending it... You'll wait a long,
long, long time.

Subject: [sipx-users] AudioCodes M1K gateway, again
All,
We now have our AudioCodes M1K running v5.40, which should be
auto-configurable by sipX
I have "erased" the config by uploading a blank ini file.
The unit is still not going into tftp mode. A packet snif
reveals that
-bootp works, and the unit get ip address, next server, filename,
options fields netmask and router.
-about 30 secs later, the unit sends 8 or gratuitous ARPs for
it's new
ip address.
That is all. At this point the web management interface is
available,
with default user/password
However, the auto-config download via TFTP does not happen.
Any suggestions as to what we may be missing here ?
(Spantree issues have already been removed, as suggested earlier)
Thanks,
Johan

Why do mathematicians always confuse Halloween and Christmas?
Because 31 Oct = 25 Dec.
