Do you mean in the Users section of the GUI, in Unified Messaging, the Full,
Medium or Brief options?
I see that and the Full, Medium and Brief options in the
EmailFormats.Properties file as well.
However, placing that file in /etc/sipxpbx alone doesn't seem to call it up.

I see nothing with 'user profiles' from the cli.

From the replies I've gotten on this, I should have figured this out by now
:).

I am still missing something and this new feature doesn't have any
  documentation that I can find.
The file does exist and I've edited it to suit but the system continues to
  use the default notifications.
Is there something else I need to edit in order to tell the system to use
  the new notification method?

You have to create the file EmailFormats.Properties in
  /etc/sipxpbx/sipxivr
It's not included by default. Follow the instructions I posted earlier
to create the file and fill it with the default settings. After you
have created it THEN you can modify it to your needs. Once you get it
in place it will make sense

  Thanks also Tony.
Ok, so I guess I had found this yesterday but it was jiberish. Still
  is today.
I thought it would be a simple to understand file that has the
current method and sections for entering my own instead.
I suspect there will be others asking the same things :).
I see these items in /etc/sipxpbx/sipxivr and no
  EmailFormats.properties.

//
Adds support for three "types" of formats:
Full: Same as the old format, HTML and text alterntatives, with links.
Medium: HTML and text alternatves, without links.
  Brief: Just text.
Templates are defined in EmailFormats.properites, which can be
overridden with a user supplied version, and also internationalized.
Lots of variable expansions available to enable custom formats of
items such as the subject, date formatting, etc.
sipXivr will look for
  {prefix}/etc/sipxpbx/sipxivr/EmailFormats.properties
(including all EmailFormats_{locale}.properties variants) first, and
if not found will use the default formats defined in
  org.sipfoundry.voicemail.EmailFormats.properties (in the sipXivr.jar
  file).
As there is no sipXconfig support for configuring this yet, the
default format for the main email address is Full, and for the
alternate email address is Brief at the moment.

sipXcommons, sipXivr: Get email and IMAP info from validusers.xml Now
uses the<email> section of validusers.xml No longer uses
<notification> section of mailboxprefs.xml for this.
Fixes XX-6914 - No E-mail notification received upon dropping a
  voicemail.
