Can you load opera on an ipad yet?

"Small" devices have limits. Android is beginning to support flash,
blackberry is a no show.

How a lot of small devices handle java and/or javascript is an industry
battle. If you feel an admin will want to manage sipx with an ipad, you need
to see if apple will allow the app before you write it.

While I understand what you are saying (typing from my blackberry), I also
understand that since sipx relies HEAVILY on java, rewriting the web
interface is a complete rebuild of the system.

Surely someone can spend the time and effort to write a mobile app with
linited functuonality for users. Are you offering?

Maybe you can ask the dev list what it would take to offer basic web app
functions for a user from such a device, perhaps an xhtml formatted login
option on the main screen... maybe others will see value in that too.
Especially us crackberries. Notice how we're all fruits?

Subject: [sipx-users] Sipx interface doesn't work on IPad

I tried accessing the Sipx 4.04 web interface on my new iPad, and was
surprised to find that the menus do not work. I don't yet have access to a
4.2 system to see if that works.

I assume this is because the menu system is based on mouseOver
events--something not straightforward with a touchscreen. However I was
surprised to see no menu pop up when I actually clicked on the menu header.

I know that sipx doesn't officially support the iPad browser (or other
browsers in Android or Chrome or whatever else is coming), but I believe
that these kinds of tablet devices will become increasingly common tools for
portable admin and troubleshooting.

Would it be challenging to implement a menuing system that could operate
without mouseOvers?

Not a complaint--just thinking out loud. And forgive me if already fixed in
4.2...

Jeff
