Tony, you were correct; it seems the netopia 3346n-ent routers have ALG turned on (no thanks to motorola's support... I had to dig to find this out). Tto turn it off you have to run the following command: "no ip nat alg sip enable" withut the quotes. If not, the mechanism used to traverse nat (since it is also routed), is where you should look if the phone indeed has a private IP address. I would strongly suspect an ALG/SPI or PROXY is sitting in the way at the other end. I know you said it dont, but I think you need to look closer. My 2 cents.
