The master controls all the failover and synchronization when service
is restored for registration. Taking the master proxy offline creates
an issue and am glad you are not going to do that.

Why wouldn't you do DNS SRV weighting the primary last and leep that
option open?

You wouldn't really worry about the primary receiving registrations
unless the other(s) were unavailable if you weight it properly.
