Hey Michael,

I didnt setup anything in Sipx (no auto attendant, no DID).. All I did was to
create a user in SIPX and then send u...@sipxipaddress from my VoIP gateway and
that makes the user phone ring..so it worked without me creating any rules or
dial plans.

To be honest, I dont know how SIPx is handling this since I dont have any
special rule/dial plan setup.. to me, I think it is inbound -> directly to user

There is no routing based on source #...

When a call comes in, what does the call flow look like?
inbound -> auto attendant -> pick#/dial ext

or

inbound -> directly to user with DID ?

Describe the call flow please...

calls are coming in via a Gateway.. Audiocodes M1K... how about call routing
based on caller ID? As I mentioned, Todd's method worked but created an issue
with inbound... Can there be a dial plan setup based on the Caller ID, so if
the CallerID is xxxxxx then send the call to the users otherwise send a call
to a phantom user...

your help is appreciated.

Thanks

This is happening because the dial plan is processed first... Sorry to shoot
you down Todd... :-)

How are these calls coming in to the system? Gateway? SIP Trunk?

This solution is going to be a total hack job (if it can be done)... but it
kind of sounds pretty screwed up to begin with.

thanks.. I setup the custom plan but that created issues with inbound calls.. I
have an Audiocodes TDM to IP gateway.. so my PBX is basically sending a call to
Audiocodes and then being converted to SIP and sent to SIPx.. for example if
the user on sipx is 222 then audiocodes is sending 2...@mysipx

when I implemented the rules you suggested, the user couldn't receive any more
calls from Audiocodes, at the same time the users was unable to place any call
which is what we want.

Is there a way to setup a Dial plan for outbound calls only?

Go to System/Dialplans.

Add new "Custom" plan from the dropdown

On the template, give it a name, click on enable, then set the dial rule. IF
you have 3 digit extensions as an example, that start with 7, then build a rule
under Dialed Number of Prefix "7", and "2 digits"

Drop to Resulting Call and enter a number to call when they dial a 3 digit
extension. You could build an auto attendant that they reach that gives them a
personal auto attendant of numbers they can reach - managers, HR, etc.

Hi,

I have a setup that requires users on Sipx to receive calls only and not be
able to call each other..

how can I disable a user from calling another extension?

Thanks
