Rbs and ni1 and ni2 can all be done on patton gateways at the same time (ie each t1 interface using different protocol). I don't know if it matters though. They are very efficient and definitely popular in carrier space. Unless I'm looking to do some very specific things like NENA 03-002 MF CAMA termination which requires an AudioCodes or NET gateway, we almost always spec an IOS voice router (they exist in many companies edge already) or ADTRAN TA.
