Don't know... Mainly because they say it only happens with me.  Since
everything is OK for a good long while at the beginning of each call
however, and then the banging/pinging starts and accelerates till continuing
the call becomes impossible or the connection is lost, it does seem like
some kind of built-in build-up of something which is not good.

Ehm, Satellite? Could this not be the cause?
I quote from Skype download page, system requirements section:
"Internet connection (broadband is best, GPRS is not supported for voice
calls, and results may vary on a satellite connection)."
Quotation end.
So evidently in Satellite connection audio could not be so perfect.
