When I had the box checked for "let skype adjust my sound settings," it didn't make much difference. However now, I have it unchecked because the microphone level was lower than I liked it.

Subject: Re: [Skypeenglish] Automatically adjust volume and Winamp Hi! Frankly, I didn't notice such suggestion. This option is like any other option. It's OK if the user doesn't have extra demands from his or her sound card. "Let Skype adjust my sound settings" does one simple thing, and that's automatically selecting Microphone in Volume recording properties and checking the Mute check box in Playback properties. Every time you receive a call on Skype, it sets this two things if they are not set. It more or less works from version to version depending of sound card in use. If the user has a need for recording through line in or aux, or has radio or tv card connected via cable to his or her sound card, setting the option in question to "true" can be problematic, because tv cards like to do the same thing (checking recording input they need). Also, if the user oftenly records something from line in he or she expects not to check Volume settings every time they need to record. In my opinion working with two different sound cards solves most of the problems. If you put all of the VoIP things on one, and other PC stuff on the other, there will be no interruption. If you use USB Headset your possible problem is also solved, because USB things like this are acting as a separate sound device. hth. ______________________ Regards G MSN: zarakijel at gmail.com http://zarakijel.4shared.com ----- Original Message ----- From: "Sieghard Weitzel" <[email protected]> To: "Skype Mailing List" <skypeenglish at emissives.com> Sent: Wednesday, October 15, 2008 8:38 AM Subject: [Skypeenglish] Automatically adjust volume and Winamp > Hello list, > > > > Just had two quick questions - I am using Skype version 3.8: > > > > 1.
