Yeah I totally agree with you there!
Why change something like skype 3.8.188 which is totally accessible to all
screenreaders and then decide to change it?
that's absolutely stupid and rediculus!
If the skype developers want to change things around they should think of
people who sometimes find their upgrades inaccesssible because they don't
think of how we use skype and so I say that the developers should try using
their latest version of skype with thir eyes closed!
Then maybe they'll get the drift!

With nvda for example when you right click a contact the menus don't
speak.
I think if a developer made its software trully accessible it wouldn't
matter if you used it with jaws or narator. It would still work fine.
But for now I can tell you atleast two screen readers where skype 4.1 has
problems. These are nvda and hal.
So skype 3.8 needs to be there for us who don't use jaws as a primary
screen
reader.
As I said I think you are doing a great job and I think it is skype that
doesn't do things right and not you. Skype 3.8 was really accessible with
all screen readers and they shouldn't change it.

I honestly don't think Skype 4.1 is harder to use, just different.
Skype 3.8 still works in many places but is no longer supported with
updates
to scripts or Skype itself. I therefore consider Skype 3.8 an emergency
backup plan more than a current alternative.
