You asked about making phone calls from Skype for free. Skype calls to another computer are free but to call a regular telephone you need to either buy Skype Credit and pay by the minute or purchase a subscription. There are various subscriptions available covering either just one country or anywhere in the world you can call with Skype with a subscription. Subscriptions are for either three months or one year.
