It's a security setting in Os X. I believe you can change this in System
Preferences, Security and Privacy.

So I've just downloaded the Skype dmg to my Mac's downloads folder. I then
coppied it to the application folder, and ran it from there. I'm new to
downloads and dmg, and can't quite recall the right way to do this. What I have

installed app, so everytime I open it, I get the message when and where it was
downloaded from, and asked if I really want to open it.
