Apparently sacrificing a single chicken doesn't solve my woes (see previous
email).
I've installed mgetty on the machine and am calling it from inittab as
`/sbin/mgetty -r -x 9 -s 19200 ttyS1`. It now gives a login prompt but
after typing the username and hitting enter the sessions hangs for while
until it times out (hitting enter will get a new login prompt). On the
machine during this time the login process is present.
I've tried strace `/sbin/mgetty -r -x 9 -s 19200 ttyS1` and from the output
of that there's a line "Login timed out after 60 seconds". I'm not sure
why this would be happening, anyone else had the same grief?
