My 1100VA UPS is currently sitting at 40% (+/-10%) utilization.
It is powering:
- 3PCs (6x86-133, P133, P75)
- 6 hardisks between them
- 56k external modem and 3com 8-port hub.
- 21" DEC monitor (however the spike when it's turned on/degaussed will trip
the UPS and cause the main power to be supplied directly for a second)
P75 with 2 HDD is enough to raise the utilization to 60% (+/-10% .. the UPS
only display utilization to nearest 20%).

I used to have APC UPS which was not fully online and it tried to deal with
brownouts by tripping at the first sign of one. This was annoying becase:
1. It was very noisy while running on batteries (including a beeping alarm
which could not be disabled)
2. Sometimes it did not catch it in time as my computer seems to be very
sensitive to dirty power.
I since replaced it with fully online Powertech UPS and no problem since.
The only downside with online UPS is the extra noise as they continuosly
whir.
