Would you really want to?
As far as I can work out, the only new thing that Amazon has a patent
for is the expression "1-click".
The idea of storing customer shipping and billing information is
hardly new (jeeze, I was doing that 15 years ago) and yes, we did send
stuff giftwrapped to other people on customers behalf ("we'll write
anything on the card you like so long as we can keep a straight face"
(young people and hormones - nuff said {:-).
I must admit that we didn't keep gift lists that people wanted, but
the big stores here have had a system for how many decades where
brides to be can lodge the gifts that they would like, so that part is
nothing new.
How many www sites do you visit that you know longer have to log into
because of cookies/tokens/etc? Nothing new there.

to patenting "everything". Give greater understanding to the level
playing field that the yanks want. 'We patent everything so you have
to buy a license from an US trans-national before you can start'.
The last consideration is 'can you afford the fraud?' This would all
be fuelled by credit cards. It would only take a few less scrupulous
people to really rort a merchant. My understanding is that credit card
fraud was seen as 20% on internet transactions this last christmas. It
hardly makes me think that Amazon is moving towards a situation where
they are going to start making a profit.
