1. Company names are not patented.
2. All it means is that if you file a patent in Australia within six month
of filing the same patent in the US, the date of filing in Australia is
considered to be the date of filing in the US.
3. This exists for quite reasonable reason. It stop people from watching
what is filed in one country and then trying to patent it overseas before
the inventor has a reasonable chance to do so himself.
4. The treaty in no way forces Australia to actually grant the patent.
5. In general Australia (reasonably) does not allow people to patent
business processes or software algorithms.
