Perhaps slightly different wording:

It is a corporate dream: hunting-and-herding millions
of dumb consumers sucking ....

I am astonished by coverage of Internet topics by mainstream
press such as SMH.

Obviously their readers have direct, daily experience with the
Internet. An experience which is at odds with the coverage given
in sections such as Biz.Com.

In this section, we are led to believe that the Internet is a great
game between corporate titans. Do these journalists and editors think
that ordinary folk wait with baited breath for the next round of tittle
tattle about fools who think they are buying 'a slice of the Internet'.

I've often thought it appropriate that the business section
(of which Biz.com is now part) is really the front section of the sports
pages.

Ob Linux: What do we brace ourselves for first? eLinux or l-commerce?
There can be no mainstream news of Linux until corporate entities
repackage it and rent it back to us, it would seem.
