exactly. i coudnt have said it better. its fun watching companies get
into
linux with big press releases. then all sorts of bullocks it commentary
about how linux will be so much better and united *blah* *blah* *blah*
then 3 months (i was going to say 6 months) down the track we see
nothing,
i must admit a few exceptions though, sgi has been nice to us, so has
ibm,
although mostly for selfish reasons but oh well (feel free to list
more).
computing these days is so much about fancy names and logo's.
i think its unfair to compare linux to windows. windows and linux are
built
on such different principles. windows on "standards" (i use this
carefully)
linux on freedom. a standard desktop in linux would suck, i love
remaking my
desktop and my console every few months. i dont know how a person could
live
with that dull grey bar....
but seriously, its hard to find decent linux commentary, as everyone
whos in
deep enough has better things to do =)
