Winmodems are worse than what most people say.
I've had hell dealing with the Dynalink 1456VQH-R1 (?) which is Conexant
technology and seems to conflict on any machine which has anything more
than a graphics card.
I haven't been able to get the thing going in three machines!
After having 2 machines returned to me because of internal modem problems
(out of 5 machines), I no longer ship internal modems (by choice) in PCs I
build.
I don't know if it's just the Conexant cards, but they are horrible
things. Horrible! A warranty nightmare. I'll have to write this one off
as a loss unless I can get it working on a machine.
