Hi, as a follow-up to my other message, it seems that the 486 could having trouble mounting the Atapi CD-ROM Drive (hdb), even though it seems to be accessing the drive for about 3 minutes before it tells me it's safe to reboot the system. By switching terminals through Alt-F1-4, I see that the last bit of output is: trying to mount device hdb going to insmod raid0.o (path is NULL) going to insmod raid1.o (path is NULL) going to insmod raid5.o (path is NULL) On another terminal, it says the rais personalities have been registered. I'm not sure if this loading of raid (as in HD array) modules is normal. One thing to note is, the dos95 setup I am trying to install over can access the drive OK. Has anyone else experienced this while attempting to install Linux on older hardware? Thanks for your time, Alex ________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com -- SLUG - Sydney Linux Users Group Mailing List - http://www.slug.org.au To unsubscribe send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with unsubscribe in the text
