Check the firmware version of your Aopen board. I have an AOpen MB and it
works fine.. there are patches out there for them too...

My system is setup as follows:
HDA: 8.4 GB HDD
HDB: Nothing
HDC: Philips CD-RW
HDD: 24x CDROM
The motherboard is an AOpen AX6BC Pro.
If I set the boot order to cdrom, A, C everything work perfectly; teh
system boots up, checks for a bootable CD in HDC, doesn't find one and
then continues to boot off the HDD.
If I set the boot order to A, C or to C only then the system boots up,
and it fails to find hdd - it just pauses for a while after hdc and
then continues.
It always works under windows (now there's something I don't get to say
very often!)
Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this? I prefer not to have the
cdrom as a boot device (it slows the boot sequence down, and I keep
leaving bootable CDs in there)
