Exim is also a definite yes.
Exim can also be readily configured so that as the first stage in the delivery
process for all messages, the message is fed to the standard input of a
designated external program. Depending on the exit code of the program,
delivery can continue as normal, or the message can be bounced. Anything the
program writes to stdout is added to the 'reason' bit of the bounce message.
(NB Or so it says in the manual - I haven't tried it).
I'm delighted to report that my current ISP (entirely Linux based, uses Exim)
bounced all 'love bug' (spotted explicitly) and descendants ('.vbs? Naff
off...') aimed in my direction.
[ Two twerps at work managed to broadcast one each to the whole company - both
said twerps being in the US sales office. ]
Needless to say, with a Linux at work and home (I'm off work at the mo. but
have procmail copy interesting stuff - including SLUG, natch - to home), it
wasn't going to be me anyway, but it's always nice to know one's ISP is on the
ball in these matters.
