Presumably you are each retreieving your email using pop or imap from
your ISP. I would suggest that you create another login. Have that login
forward to both of you machine local account (using a .forward file).

Then use fetchmail to retrieve mail from your ISP and deposit it locally.
The forward will ensure that it gets delivered to both your machine local
accounts. You'll need to modify each of your netscape setups so that they
get email locally rather than from the ISP using pop/imap as well.
