Hi all,

I've been offered a HP laserjet4 printer for $400
(second hand of course).
First off, is that good value?

Details on it are sketchy, I'm having a look at it tonight.
Apparently it's got a centronics 50 type plug and a parallel
port looking plug (my informant was unsure if it had an
ethernet socket). So I was hoping to bring along my
laptop and do some test printing on it.
I presume I can just add it in RH printtool (my laptop
has redhat 6.2 on it at the moment).

I mainly want to check it's a postscript printer (and
that it all seems to work properly of course).
What's the easiest way?
Will creating a postscript file then just: cat file > /dev/printer
be a good enough test?
I'm not going to have much time to stuff around.

Thanks,
Dave.
