No. A 4L cost $800 5 years back, and they stopped making them 4 years ago (or so).
You can buy new one for aroung the $600 mark (dont know the names)

HUH?
I have installed and setup many HP4L, all of them are still going.
When we started our comany I bought one for us as well, and its still going
(not the main printer anymore, though). I have a HP4MV and have never had
ANY problems with it (and it gets bashed with >500 pages a day!).
A few months back we bought a 4500DN, brilliant.
print test:
If its a 4L hold down the button until the light flashes.
If its a 4M, 4MV etc:
press Online toggle to switch off line,
press menu until you see "test menu"
press "item" until you see "self test" or "cont self test"
press "enter" to print
Make sure that the fine lines dont look smudged, if they do turn around
and walk out!
The self test page tells you to how many pages they have printed.
The good thing about 4M series printers you can buy recycled cartridges
which are soo much cheaper and environemntal friendly.
