The levels are right but most guitars have high impedance outputs and lose all their high frequencies if plugged into low impedance inputs like the ones on sound cards. > A Compressor will do you no good since the majority of them are > designed to operate on Line level signals. I did say a guitar pedal version of a compressor. These are designed for guitar signal levels. Soothing out the volume level with a compressor will benefit the recording process immensely.
