Works for me (Sarge+2.6.4). I had a number of problems (some module things are still a bit screwy -> reporting errors on boot, but it all works), but inexperience was the biggest one. There are some "white papers" (a bit fluff heavy, even for novices like me) on doing the update. I found them too late, but they might help explain some of the differences ...
