Hi

I have done the same thing but used the testing kernel-2.6.4 and only
need the updated hotplug deb. 

But the other trick is/was that 2.6 doesn't use /etc/modutils but
/etc/modprobe.d

The only thing I haven't got working is my pctel winmodem
