Hi, With the announcement that summer is probably going to be the time for blackouts and brown outs. As government is saying its likely the power grid is going to be overloaded in the various periods when everyone wants an A/C unit on this summer.
I decided it might be proactive of me to look at a UPS for one of my systems, which happens to be doing a bit of work where its running 2 or so virtual machines full time. Last thing I need is for it to die and then get filesystem issues. Anyone got some experience regarding whats good or whats not? Most units come with USB only interfaces, so I am looking to see if anyone has good or bad experience with this. Not to mention what tools are available to monitor such devices. I am leaning towards an MGE Nova from www.mgeups.com as these seem to be very good value across the range. Just want to be certain that monitoring via USB is not a show stopper. Google search doesn't real feel in the gaps, but it certainly looks like this type of support is not unheard of.
