That was true when KDE 4.0 was released. I run the latest KDE 4.0.4 and it is
perfectly alright for daily SERIOUS work. (there are some annoyances with
plasma, xine crashes etc though very much tolerable)

Some apps such as Mail are not yet native KDE4, but Kmail/kontact from KDE
3.5.9 works well under KDE4.*

With each .0.x release, you can actually see the progress, the annoying bugs
vanishing one handful at a time, *that* is nice.

I think one of the nicest thing in KDE4 is the gorgeous fonts in konsole. It
makes all CLI work enjoyable.

I think this list is dominated by geeks, experimenters, advanced users and
newbies who would like to become the aforementioned. Without using such
latest software and filing bug reports , blogging about it etc, the state of
Free Software will stagnate , right?

The what is the diff between us and
those-still-using-xp-unsure-of-trying-vista types?

My $0.02 + plus 0.01 increase recommended by Transport Council + 7% GST
please.
