Yes! I was so convinced I would need some commandline incantation,
grepping of lsusb output, fiddling of simpleui.rc, and so on, that I
didn't even think of just clicking on Networks.

Still, the Eee is not a complete triumph .. this article notes some
gripes I've also noticed:

Specifically:
- the system freezes. Both a black one and white one (both 4G 700's)
I've tried have repeatedly frozen after being left alone for a while.
- the wifi network detection can be wonky. Yesterday in the National
Library it showed about 5 library public access networks, and just as
many [EMAIL PROTECTED] networks, both up to 90+% signal strength. It jumped
on the library network and refused to connect to the [EMAIL PROTECTED]
network. Meantime my Thinkpad was on [EMAIL PROTECTED] with no problem.
