Hello

After trying out cinelerra(buggy and crashy as all hell) and a host of other video editing software for Linux. I've settled on kdenlive.

I am trying to digitise a collection of old VHS home movies, and have the following setup:

o bt878 based video capture card
o using ffmpeg to capture video+audio
 o playback on my VCR

The problems the above setup has:
o ffmpeg gives poor quality video in my case
o I can't monitor the video as it's being captured

After a bit of googling I've decided that I need something like the Canopus DV100/110 to digitise my video. Kdenlive supports the dv format, so I'm hopeful.

Any help and advise on how to proceed is appreciated.

Cheers
Stephan
