Hi Anand,

I use a PVR-250 which is a USB MPEG2 encoder, I bought it 3 years ago
bundled with a usb IR (receiver and transmitter) which works with very
little effort with LIRC.

as far for the laptop, I've considered it, my main argument against it at
this time is that i want my wife to be able to play music without opening
the tv, thats why I was looking for a fully integrated solution.

cheers,
Ohad
