Subject: RE: [smartBridges] Airpoint
Problem
hehehe... You don't want to know how many AP's/AB's that I have right
now that rattle. Fresh from the factory, you can shake it and it
sounds like a SMT chip such as a cap or resistor is moving around
inside...
On
the airBridges, has anyone had problems with the ant screw interface comming
off? They are just pressed on, but it's like they are not pressed on
enough, or don't have enough thread exposed and when you tighten down the
pigtail's it pulls it out.
I've just been taking a screw plug, threading it a couple of times,
and taking a hammer and tapping it back in... seems to hold it pretty good
after that.. If anyone wants pics, let me
know!
This is a FYI for Smartbridges and not a real complaint.
We recently removed an AirPoint AP from service
while isolating another problem and when we got it back to the
office noticed that it had something rattling around inside. Not wanting
to send it back, we took it apart and found that the metal RF shield
covering some of the components had fallen off. It looks like it was
supposed to have been soldered on but insufficient solder was used. We
pressed it back in place and added a few dabs of solder to hold it.
The Smartbridges people might want to make a note of it for their
inspection department.
