Yes, I did let it cool. I left it unplugged overnight and applied the fix
early morning when it is coolest.

Did you allow time for the aBO to cool down prior to applying the firmware?
If you applied it while it was hot, I belive that would cause the system to
loose the ethernet port.

Thanks, Billy

Subject: [smartBridges] Firmware fix and now Ethernet port dead?

I'm new on this list so please pardon me if I'm going over old hat.

I installed an aBO towards the end of May and endured the periodic lack of
association. When it became bothersome, I went to the SmartBridges web site
to see if this was an isolated case or a widely reported problem. I realized
that SB was already aware of the problem and has a firmware fix for it. I
dutifully applied the fix after letting the radio cool. The fw update
reported successful but now I can't reach the airBridge anymore. I've taken
it down, and it shows the Ethernet port no longer lights up. I've tried to
reset it several times but nothing doing. How can a solution cause such a
huge problem? What do I do now? Has anyone seen this?

Grateful for all ideas. Thanks.

....Ayo
