I think it's time for the boys at SB to start taking trips to the US to eje and the others to see exactly whats going on IN THE FIELD. But that's just my view...

This is why SB has no factory presence in USA.... They might get lynched by
us who are frustrated with them... :)

Thanks for sticking up for me and all the rest of us frustrated LOYAL
customers. Being that I have been using sB equipment SOLELY for 8 months, I
do know how to make this stuff work...which sad to say is NOT plug and play.
But...once you get to know the little tweaks, it works DAMN well!!!!!
UNTIL....BIG UNTIL...this latest batch of screwed up equipment. This stuff
just does all kinds of weird stuff. And...I found 2 more bad POE units
today as well. I believe it is loose connectivity in the power cord at the
little chrome plug again....wiggle it one way and it works....wiggle it the
other way and dead as a doornail.
Anyway....I am very frustrated...and very tired. My most loyal of customers
are now questioning my service. That is a stab to my heart! I live and
breath this stuff and the problems do NOT LIE WITH MY ABILITIES!!
I wish sB could just go back to their old manufacturer and old chip
set...and give me some good stuff again!!
Well...back to my lab.

I will say it again. Having us (sully) test stuff for SB is a waste. We can
only do so much we are not engineers. What you do in the lab is MUCH MUCH
MUCH different in the real world. SB you guys are in a clean environment and
in perfect conditions, yes I am sure you can duplicate some scenarios but
not all. Maybe it is time to send someone on a 2 week road trip to see these
units and how they do or do not perform as designed IN the field so you can
see first hand our findings and frustrations and give is input as well as
give yourselves input on what is going on. You ALWAYS and I do mean always
find it to be a fault with the installation. Look at this problem for
example he has exhausted his resources trying to figure it out, he explained
twice or maybe three times now the original APPO works well just cuts out
and he puts the NEW one up and it does not work even 1/8 as long as his
original unit.
It seems you need some real help in the trouble shooting skill area. I was a
tech support manager for over 8 years and that was my job to troubleshoot
things no offense Engineers are NOT always good trouble shooters unless they
can put test equipment on the device and have HARD evidence to explain what
is going on. There is no way in hell you can tell me you can try and figure
all these problems out without sending one of your engineers or techs out to
see what's going on. You have wasted many man hours of your own time as well
as ours tying to fix problems you don't seem to think it is related to the
equipment??
Once you send someone out and they are either stumped or maybe they will see
something and say OHH HEY that should not be like that we need to change
this cap or resistor to a better value etc then your only wasting man-hours
for all.
SEND SOMEONE OUT of all the time and effort you put into all this and still
not got much of anywhere (yes the new firmware did help but still others are
having problems) you could have sent your whole team roundtrip to Orlando
Disney world for a week..
Do yourself and us a favor send someone out in the field, if it were my
company I would unless there is something you already know and are afraid to
confirm by coming out in the field. Our jobs / lives are on hold waiting for
your answers to these problems and for those of us that have stuck with you
thick and thin you need to at least do us this one favor...
If its not an SB problem then sure we are at fault but there has to be some
logical answer as to why these units have all of a sudden been a real pain
in the ass!

Same location...different outlet. If it were a power problem (which I
suspected as well), then why would it work with the aPPo on the roof right
now, but not work with the 2 new aPPo's??
I did swap the POE unit twice to confirm.

Yes I can confirm that keeping the antenna port open will not harm the
radio.
Is there a difference in the quality of AC power at these locations?

Why are they working in the garage ? To many variables are still there !
Use the same length of 10baseT cable, same essid, same wep, same
channel. If you can't do that in your garage take it someplace else.
What kind of clients are they ? Are they all SB's or a mixture ?
Is anyone sure that not connecting an antenna will not do something bad
to the radio ?
