If you want to use MRTG to graph your RSSI/LQ on the airBridge, you need
to assign it a static IP. There are many other reasons to assign the
static IP as well.

I can not even begin to tell you how many issues I have seen on this
forum with regards to DHCP. I statically assign everything.

Private IPs for everyone (1 to Many-PAT):
1 static IP for the airBridge
1 static IP for the router (that I preconfigure and supply)

Then run DHCP behind the router inside the clients home (so you don't
have to touch their PC).

Even if I want the client to have a PUBLIC IP, I run a 1 to 1 NAT from
PUBLIC to PRIVATE and statically assign the private IP to the clients
router.

BAMMO...no more DHCP problems.

Just remember that he "could" request 2 leases depending on your setup;
one
for the Airbridge and one from his computer. Both would show the same
MAC
(the Airbridge MAC) if using new firmware.

By the way, don't use his PC's MAC as suggested below. You won't see it
on
your end.

But this all depends on how you have your Airbridge configured. You
could
test and give the Airbridge a static IP, then see how many requests his
computer makes.

If your DHCP server has this feature you could give him a permenant IP
lease. You enter his PC MAC address and the IP you wish him to use.
Every
time his PC wants an IP address, it will get the same one.
