I'm trying to build my first relay/AP with a pair of AirPoint Pro boxes (1
Total, 1 Pro) and I can't get the Total (or Pro) to bridge to my existing
Cisco AP 350. Is there some trick to this?

FYI, my proposed config is:
AP 350 -> APP Total (bridge) -> APP as AP
I.e., I'm trying to add coverage to a new area relaying from an existing
Cisco AP.

If I reset the APPT to factory settings, then change the operational mode to
'Client Bridge', then go to Site Survey and select my ESSID (very strong
signal), it will associate succesfully and I can view the link status ok.
BUT, it doesn't bridge at all. I.e., I can't ping the gateway or the AP
350. More data: if I further switch Primary Port to wireless it will
succesfully lease an IP from the Mikrotik gateway via the AP 350.

The AP 350 log is strange too, it shows an associate but then drops it soon
after, e.g.:

2003/10/02 18:24:00 Info Disassociating 00301a0c3509, reason "Not
Associated"
2003/10/02 18:23:55 Info Station 00301a0c3509 Associated
2003/10/02 18:23:55 Info Station 00301a0c3509 Authenticated

Though the "Link Status" continues quite happily past this point.

Is this simply that the AP 350 isn't compatible (doesn't support 'Address
4'?) or have I misconfigured something on the AP 350 and/or APP?

thanks in advance!

cheers, michael
